March 4th & misc

Missed posting on my birthday! I was hoping to start a pair of socks for me on my birthday but I missed the date so I am going to dig and find something I like in my stash and make one now! Need a new pair since I only have 5 pairs and I got a hole in 2 different pairs using them for house socks! I knew better but my feet were very cold so I wore them anyway!

Most of my knitting time is being used up for repairing and lengthening socks for my 7 year old. She has so many nice knee socks I made that it is a shame to waste them. It is not fun work but at least it doesn't take as long as knitting a whole new pair. Hubby got another hole in another pair of his Thick and Quick Wool-Ease house socks. I can't believe they don't last longer than a couple of months. I used the smallest need possible. I thought my hands and arms might fall off at times. I am going to try using Knit picks Bulky yarn for house socks next time! See if it lasts longer! I know I could add nylon to the foot but I am not wanting to go to the extra work. If I find my other book on knitting I am going to make a different kind of foot! One that can be replaced without so much trouble.

These are my first pair of house socks! Haven't even worn them yet! We have cold wood floors so they are really needed!
