Lorna's Laces Bulky -- Violet -- need 2 for pair

This would make 6 pairs for 08. Started and finished in February 08.
These are her walk around socks. I was surprised to see her wearing them with her sandals around the house. I didn't think they would fit since it is bulky yarn.

Need one hank for each knee sock. Used a Knit picks needle size 6 (4.0) K2 P2 cuff. Decreased down to 36 and did the flap heel. Don't have anymore info on these socks. Didn't take notes just kept trying it on baby girl. Yes, it is another for her. I want to her to be able to change to fresh socks often. I don't like to wear mine more than one day. Same for daddyo and baby girl.

I learned as long as I use a big enough needle they are not that bad to make. It is hard on my hands and shoulders if I use a needle to small for the yarn. I am a tight knitter and I am sure others would have used a much bigger needle. As you can see they want you to use an 10 needle. I used a 6. I got 5.5 stitches per inch. They say you should get 3.5 per inch. The fabric firmness was perfect.

Needle Addi 3 (3.25) Cast on 56. K2 P2 cuff. Decrease down to 48 to do the heel flap. Didn't take great notes. Can't give more info than this.

Another knee sock for baby girl! Lorna's yarn is always great to work with.

Knit Pick - Ballerina - Swish Superwash - need 4 skeins for pair

Started and Finished in Feb 08. I have no idea why these pictures are burry. They were taken the same way as the others and look great on my viewer. Maybe I will try and reload them another day and see if there is a difference then. Sorry. Don't have more then info noted here on this blog on how they were made since I didn't do much in the way of notes. Just measured her as I went.
Need 4 skeins of worsted weight knit picks yarn. It is so pretty. I can't wait to try the sports weight on a pair of socks. Swish Superwash that is.
Cast on 60 decreased down to 52. Would do 48 if I was to ever make another pair. She will grow into them anyway. Second change would be the cast on should be 64 instead of 60. I think it maybe because of the needle size 2. I will have to remeasure her leg and reswatch when the time comes.
Need size knit picks (3.25) suggested need on label is 6-9. I think it is interesting how much smaller I have gone to get the firmness of the fabric for the socks. I started with a size 2 but it was too hard on my hands so I switched to a 3.
Gauge 7.5 per inch. Suggested gauge was 4.5 - 5 stitches per inch. I got 8 when I used the size 2 needle.

Another knee sock! for my little one! The top one is the Knit Picks one. It is a worsted weight yarn. I loved knitting with it! It washed up beautiful! I made them a little bigger for growth. Wish they would last until after next winter but I am sure that is too much to ask. I am glad I am done with these socks this season. Worsted weight and bulky are my least favorite to make. I still have 2 pairs to make for others but hopefully this is it for daughter until next year. I enjoy sports and fingers weight so much more. Matter of fact, I have been wanting to cast on a pair all week so I can do a little when I have a few extra minutes.

Lorna's Laces Swirl Chunky

Started and Finished in Feb 08. Need 2 hanks to make a pair of knee socks for baby girl.
The reason you see 2 different shades is because one picture was scanned. The first picture is closer to the true color of the yarn. These are very soft and warm! I didn't really like working with the yarn until I used a larger needle than I thought I should. It is rather stiff.

Not sure of info because I didn't keep notes. I believe I used a 56 cast on. Did a k2 p2 for 5 rows and decreased. I always do 4 in a row. Decreased down to 40 stitches. Then straight rows until I did some more decreases to get to 32 stitches to start the flap. Needle size is 7 (4.5) Gauge was 5 stitches per inch. Because of the stiffness of this yarn I had to use a 7. I started with a 6.
