I forgot to say so I am adding here at the top. Pattens and small books fit great too with the yarn and needles.These are my favorite things to plan my next project. I use them to carry it with me. The magic loop fits great in the tall ones with the socks in progress. I just grab the one that has a sock project started and head out the door. I set it on the seat next to me and when I am parked waiting for hubby or grandma I pull out the sock and work on it. The skein stays in the bottom of the container rolled in a ball. I never chase it around the car. When I have to leave I just put the sock back with needles and close the top and drive away. I have a big purse so it works for talking it to the doctors office, ball park or anywhere else. I have even made it my purse when I don't want to carrry too much stuff just put my change purse and keys in the bottom. I haven't had any problem with the keys catching my yarn since they are on the bottom. I have used the the largest one with yarn and everything else I wanted to carry in it. (The biggest one is in the back hard to see)It works great in a shopping cart when you go to a warehouse and have to wait in long lines. I stand and work on my sock and get lots if attention from others wanting to know what I am doing. At home I set it on the table or floor and work right out of it. It stays standing. These are waiting projects that is why you don't see needles with socks in progress. I pick a few a head of time and place them in the container and then on the shelves to look at while I am working on the current projects. Usually have 2 or 3 containers with started socks. That way I always have something easy to do when I go out. I will take a picture later of the 3 sizes and one with a sock in progress so you can see how they look. At first the only place I found them was Joanne's then it was Target and now Walmart has them. Target and Joanne's here in my area don't carry them anymore. I don't have a cat but I am sure it would work for some of them. My mother does and her cat can't get the ball so he just gives up and go away. I can knit in peace. Hurray!
